Kwik Kopy Direct is a total PDF creation, delivery and Job Ticketing solution. Kwik Kopy Direct is guaranteed to make artwork delivery simpler, more reliable and more economical than ever before.
Kwik Kopy Direct is a product of D2P Pty Ltd and Global Graphics, using the Jaws PDF Courier™ engine.
Jaws PDF Courier™ is a product of the years of experience that Global Graphics has amassed in Postscript and PDF engines with their family of products that includes Harlequin RIPs ®, Jaws® Systems and MaxWorkFlow™.
Jaws PDF Courier™, specifically Kwik Kopy Direct, is the PDF Creation and upload engine, free for Kwik Kopy customers to use on their workstations to simplify and streamline artwork delivery to Kwik Kopy Stores. Kwik Kopy Direct will automatically create, encrypt and upload a PDF for the Kwik Kopy provider, made to the specifications preset by that print provider.
The Kwik Kopy Direct application can be downloaded from the http://direct.kwikkopy.com.au website, and each Kwik Kopy store has its own unique URL. Within the download section, are client programs for Windows (Win98Se, Win 2000 and Win XP), Macintosh 9.2 and Macintosh OS X. You can also receive the application on CD.
Kwik Kopy Direct is not only a PDF rendering engine but also a file delivery application. Kwik Kopy Direct loads automatically upon completion of printing the PDF, and will display on screen options to Preview the PDF, Submit the PDF or Cancel the job. Clicking Submit will initiate a HTTP Upload exclusively to http://direct.kwikkopy.com.au
Proxy Server and / or Firewall Issues
The Kwik Kopy Direct HTTP Upload uses Port 80 as its default upload port. This can cause minor issues within some network environments that do not allow uploads on port 80, either because of proxy server or firewall settings. Typically, this will generate a system error, claiming the application is unable to upload the PDF.
There is a simple workaround that works for many sites – within the computer’s Internet browser’s settings, choose not to use the proxy server for accessing direct.kwikkopy.com.au. This will allow the computer to upload via port 80 ONLY to the Kwik Kopy Direct web site.
The company’s proxy server may still reject the HTTP Upload attempt – if this happens, the proxy server will need to programmed to allow the HTTP Upload on port 80 ONLY to http://direct.kwikkopy.com.au.
A workstation can by-pass the proxy, a further difficulty may exist if the firewall does not allow workstations to directly access it for internet access.
If the firewall will not allow direct access through it from a workstation, then the proxy Server and/or firewall will need to have exceptions added to their settings to allow outbound Http (port 80) traffic to http://direct.kwikkopy.com.au . Without an exception rule, there will be no way to make use of the workflow advantages of Kwik Kopy Direct service.
